The Language of Jazz

I like this book. I have been a jazz musician for over 40 years, although I have only been playing the Chromatic Harmonica for 1 year. Arthritis has stopped me from playing the guitar, my principle instrument, and the piano.
When I started learning to play there was nothing like this available. There were plenty of books with transcribed solos, but I never saw anything with an accompanying recording. You never quite knew if you had it correct, and only after years of experience can you trust your judgement.
The irony is that I don't need the recording today. I am happy with my own interpretation. But for someone just learning where the sounds of jazz lay on the instrument, this is invaluable.
The author plays the melody and then a solo and both are transcribed. I would guess an intermediate level technique is required. The solos are melodic and pleasant to play.
I bought the hard copy version and everything works fine. I have no experience of the problems the Kindle buyers have encountered.
I think that a student of jazz harmonica could do a lot worse than investing in this book/cd package. Playing the solos of others is a time proven method of learning the language of jazz.

No Audio

I just purchased "Jazz Standards Vol14" and I can't play audio on either my Kindle or PC. I don't think it was made clear what devices the program would play or not play on. I have other Kindle audio downloads that do play properly and expected this one to perform as well. If this can't be remedied, I would like a refund! I have the highest regard for Will Galison and this is no reflection on him.

Sheet Music with Tab, But NO LYRICS!

DISCLAIMER: I have not purchased this book, and I have only read the Kindle sample available online.
I choose not to purchase this book because, unfortunately, (at least according to what I could see in the Kindle sample) it is well conceived, but poorly executed in at least one regard: there are no lyrics.
Harmonica tab plus sheet music is great; it might have been so much greater with lyrics.
