About the Author
Joan Saslow is the author of a number of textbook series for adults and young adults, including "Ready to Go," "Workplace Plus," and "Literacy Plus," She was also the Series Director of "True Colors: An EFL Course for Real Communication," and of "True Voices," an EFL video course. Ms. Saslow's special interest is in distinguishing the needs of the EFL and ESL learner and creating materials appropriate for each. Ms. Saslow has taught in Chile and the United States in a variety of programs, including binational centers, academic programs, intensive language programs, and workplace programs. Ms. Saslow has been an editor, a teacher-trainer, a language learner, and a frequent speaker at gatherings of English teachers throughout the world. Allen Ascher, formerly Director of the International English Language Institute at Hunter College, has been a teacher, teacher-trainer, author, and publisher. He has taught in language and teacher-training programs in both China and the United States. Mr. Ascher has an MA in Applied Linguistics from Ohio University. Mr. Ascher is author of "Think About Editing: A Grammar Editing Guide for ESL Writers," As a publisher, he played a key role in the creation of some of the most widely used materials for adults. Mr. Ascher has provided lively workshops for teachers throughout the United States, Asia, Latin America, Europe, and the Middle East.

About the Author
Deborah Fish Ragin is a Professor of Psychology at Montclair State University. She is a graduate of Vassar College where she earned an A.B. in Psychology and Hispanic Studies in 1978. She continued her studies of psychology at Harvard University where she earned her M.A. in 1984 and her Ph.D. in 1985. Dr. Ragin served on the faculty of Hunter College at the City University of New York, and on the faculty of the Mount Sinai School of Medicine’s Department of Emergency Medicine (New York City) where she also holds a position as Adjunct Associate Professor.

Worth reading

I read the reviews on this page but decided to order this book anyway because Lori Wick is one of my favorite authors. I wasn't disapointed as the others were. I felt the questions that the first chapters rose were answerd in such a way that it taught the reader about how people sometimes deal and heal from tragic events. This book should't be veiwed as just a love story but a demonstration on how God can bring a family through greif, staying right beside them in a very dark hour. Thank-you, Lori for always seeking to teach us through your novels.

As a huge Lori Wick fan, I couldn't wait for her next book to come out! I just got it in the mail and had to read it right away!

I've read some reviews of her other books and it saddens me a little. I hope that negative reviews don't keep people from reading her books. I personally love the "girl meets boy, struggles with faith, then falls in love" type stories. I read Lori's books to escape the harsh reality of what is now a world in turmoil. Is is such a bad thing to want to dream of a perfect place?

I would highly recommend this book to Lori Wick fans and new readers alike. It brought tears to my eyes more than once!

I love the scripture referances and have gone to my Bible on more than one occasion to continue with a verse I read in one of her books.

Keep writing Lori, I can't wait to see what else you have in store for us!

A REAL Portrayal Of Grief, And The Healing Process

I have to admit that the reviews that called this book fluffy and such REALLY bother me. If you have ever lost someone close to you, especially a child, you will be in tears for the first half of the book. Wick shows a relationship to grief with many of the characters that must have come from personal experience. The emotions are raw, deep, and very real.

This story was wonderful. Yes, the second half of the book plays out more like Wick's other romances, and can be a bit more fluffy. After all the heaviness in the first half, I needed it to lighten up in the second half, but I still feel it was very real.. This book kept my attention from beginning to end. I have read it several times, and even after finishing it again last night, want to read it again. It really touched my heart, all that Lorraine (Lorri, Raine) goes through, as well as her mother, grandfather, and even her little sister. You will get to know every character, Lorraine's family especially, deeply, and fall in love with them. I would suggest this book as one of the best I've ever read, Lori Wick, and several other authors.

Good basic intro with a focus

Blundell has taken a famous work of art, on the Acropolis, at the heart of Classical Athens, and used it to introduce and discussion women's roles in the city at its height of power. While specialists may disagree with some ideas and therefore profit from considering her take on classical women, her approach is also enticing enough and short enough to keep undergraduates interested. I think this is a great book to use in a women's history course or a course focused on the classical period. Needs better citations overall.

Heady Love

Romance is the reason for all the seasons.
Love is the balm for all the ills in this world.
If you cannot do anything at least share your love.
An understanding heart is just enough sometimes.
I have read it and enjoyed the crisp language, the fire and the dialogue that made it a delight to read. High praise by many authors for Zeenat’s writing and her hallmark of quick retorts and confident, beautiful Khayyam going head to head with the suave, handsome and effortless Akbar make it a great read.

The premise of the story and the circumstances that lead to the meeting of these two is so perfect for a movie and I loved the descriptions of the emotions expressed.

I loved this. Simply loved it. It reminded me of the Pakistani serial Zindegi Gulzar Hai. Akbar Rasul- the rich, arrogant and spoiled teenager who had become a changed man, one who realized and apologized for his mistakes, and fell for his once arch-enemy, reminded me of Zaroon Zunaid. Khayyam Zafar whose sharp and vicious tongue once talked of feminism, saving the world, and working for all right causes, that was now silent for a serious reason, reminded me of Kasaf Murtaza. Zeenat Mahal narration is so fresh, engaging, and humorous. Love her voice.

Beautiful, crisp

Beautiful, crisp, simple but short. The story left me hankering to know more about the characters, especially the fiery Khayyam. Perhaps the author could write an accompanying piece to show the change and growth of Khayyam. If she does, I would definitely be buying. As of now, I am eagerly looking forward to read Haveli and The contract!
